Job summary

Qualus seeks experienced Relay Testing Professionals in Field Engineering (Level III, Senior, Lead) to commission and test protection & control schemes across substations and plants in the US. Expect extensive travel, mentoring, and a strong focus on safety and reliability.

You will work with IEDs, SCADA interfaces, and IEC-61850 communications, leading testing teams and delivering robust protective solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations
• Associate degree holders or equivalent military training may be classified as Technicians or Engineers
• Experience reading One Line and wiring diagrams
• Ability to travel and work in various field environments

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC, Wiring, BOM)
• Performs End-To-End testing
• Performs IED testing with automated test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta)
• Identifies risks in testing and commissioning
• Develops test plans and risk assessments
• Leads project tasks or teams within defined scopes
• Performs weekly site safety inspections
• Supports company and customer policies
