Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Relay Technician II to perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems. The role focuses on safety, technical proficiency with relay systems, and communication with engineers and clients.

The position involves testing, troubleshooting, and reporting while developing expertise in relay protection schemes and advanced testing practices under supervision. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission or distribution substations.
  • Ability to read and interpret one-line and three-line diagrams and relay logic.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as required.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform relay testing with guidance from senior technicians and engineers.
  • Execute element, logic, and basic functional testing of protection relays and control systems.
  • Analyze relay operations, event records, and system performance data for troubleshooting.
  • Create detailed reports and commissioning records documenting results.
