Job summary
Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks a Relay Technician II to perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems. The role emphasizes safety, technical proficiency, and support for project execution through testing, troubleshooting, and reporting.
The technician will build expertise in relay protection schemes, system analysis, and advanced testing while working with Senior Technicians and Engineers. Strong communication with clients is essential.
Qualifications
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Criminal background check required.
- Willing to work overtime and travel out of town.
- Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record.
- Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in substations.
Responsibilities
- Perform relay testing, commissioning and maintenance with supervision.
- Develop testing plans and isolation plans for safe execution.
- Create detailed test reports and commissioning records.
- Coordinate with engineers and project teams for on-time delivery.
- Read and interpret one-line/three-line diagrams and protection schematics.
- Demonstrate clear communication with clients, engineers and stakeholders.
