Job summary

Southern Michigan Bank & Trust is seeking a Customer Service Oriented Teller to deliver high-quality service, process financial transactions accurately, and maintain confidentiality within branch operations.

You will interview customers, promote bank products, balance drawers, handle cash shipments, and support lobby management while adhering to security, compliance, and training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Cash handling or retail/financial experience preferred.
• Customer service experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relations by providing high quality customer service.
• Assist customer from start to finish acting as a full relationship manager.
• Performs normal teller duties daily.
• Interview customers to obtain information and proactively sell bank products and services.
• Open and close accounts using needs-based techniques.
• Assist customers with understanding loan options, applications, and closings.
• Assist customers with electronic services and referrals to Wealth Management/Commercial/Mortgage.
