Job summary

Selective Insurance serves as a liaison between the company and agents, acting as a relationship manager for our agents, regional underwriting team and corporate departments. This inside-office role emphasizes strong communication by phone and email, with occasional travel to meet agency partners.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding marketing, negotiation and presentation skills, a self‑driven, proactive work style, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus comfort

Qualifications

• Must have strong marketing and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proven self-motivation, proactivity, and independence.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internal software.
• Valid driver''s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Works with agents to write new profitable business and achieve agency goals.
• Markets and underwrites small business and large accounts according to criteria.
• Makes underwriting decisions and promotes ease of doing business with Selective.
• Monitors agency results and follows up on opportunities, growth, profitability and compliance.
• Develops professional relationships with agent, regional underwriting, claim teams, and corporate departments.
• Keeps two-way communication between agent and company open and encourages use of Selective systems.
• May travel up to 5% of time to meet with agents.
