Job summary

Equity Resources, Inc. in Newark, Ohio seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to build relationships, grow business, and guide borrowers from application to closing. You’ll own your pipeline, develop referral networks, and deliver personalized service as a trusted local representative.

The role emphasizes strong knowledge of conventional/government lending, licenses in good standing, and a proactive, customer-focused mindset in a competitive market.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer/Originator.
• Active state-specific mortgage license(s) or ability to obtainlicensing within required timeframe.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines, federal lending regulations, and residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Proven sales and customer service skills with ability to build trust and relationships.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, mathematical, organizational, and computer skills with accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and collaboration with team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong referral relationships with realtors, builders, and past clients.
• Consult with clients, complete loan applications, answer questions, and guide borrowers through mortgage process.
• Evaluate borrower needs and financial information to recommend appropriate loan products, rates, and financing options.
• Manage pipeline from application through closing, ensuring documentation is complete and submitted on time.
• Provide timely loan updates and set clear expectations with borrowers, Realtors, referral partners, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with processors, underwriters, and other team members to keep loans moving forward.
• Maintain knowledge of mortgage products, rates, investor requirements, and origination processes.
• Meet with clients and referral partners and represent Equity Resources locally.
• Follow applicable regulations, policies, and lending requirements throughout origination.
• Deliver responsive, knowledgeable service that builds lasting borrower relationships.
