Job summary

Equity Resources, Inc. in Newark, Ohio is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Officer to build relationships, grow business, and guide borrowers from application through closing.

You’ll work with a team that supports processing and underwriting to move loans efficiently and deliver exceptional service. The role focuses on developing referral partnerships, financing solutions, and a strong book of business, while representing Equity Resources in the local market and helping families achieve

Qualifications

• 3+ years as licensed Mortgage Loan Officer/originator.
• Active state licenses or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance or related field.
• Strong knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines.
• Proven sales and customer-service skills with a track record of referrals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, and past clients.
• Consult with clients, complete loan applications, answer questions, and guide through the mortgage process.
• Evaluate borrower needs to recommend loan products and financing options.
• Manage your pipeline from application to closing with accurate documentation.
• Provide timely loan updates and set clear expectations with borrowers, Realtors, referral partners, and internal teams.
• Collaborate with processors and underwriters to keep loans moving forward.
• Maintain knowledge of available mortgage products, rates, investor requirements, and origination processes.
• Meet with clients and referral partners; represent Equity Resources in the market.
• Follow all applicable regulations and company policies throughout origination.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 3+ years of experience as a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer/Originator.
• Active state-specific mortgage license(s) or the ability to complete required national and state testing and obtain applicable licensing within the required timeframe.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines, federal lending regulations, and residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures.
• Proven sales and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust, inspire confidence, and create strong relationships.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, mathematical, organizational, and computer skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented, with a strong desire to succeed and excel in a competitive environment.

How You'll Make An Impact

• Manage your pipeline from application through closing, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Provide timely loan updates and set clear expectations with borrowers, Realtors, referral partners, and internal support teams.
• Collaborate with processors, underwriters, and other team members to address questions, resolve challenges, and keep loans moving forward.
• Maintain strong knowledge of available mortgage products, rates, investor requirements, underwriting guidelines, and origination processes.
• Meet with clients and referral partners and actively represent Equity Resources within your local market.
• Follow all applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and lending requirements throughout the origination process.
• Deliver knowledgeable, responsive, and personalized service that builds lasting relationships with borrowers and referral partners.
