Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to sell products for distribution to customers and process orders into the computer system. The role focuses on driving repeat business by ensuring customer satisfaction and building trusted relationships.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Outside Sales to develop strategies for assigned customers, handling all communications, and efficiently entering quotations and sales orders. Some travel to visit customers may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience in the metals industry or Associates Degree required.
• Excellent phone etiquette including professional language, listening skills, courtesy, and customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and build trusted relationships with customer by understanding your customers business, Reliance’s capabilities, and products, addressing concerns or complaints and providing excellent customer service
• Work with Outside Sales to create a strategy for selling to your assigned customers, maintain necessary records, drawing files, track specific inventory items, understand their strengths, products and competition.
• Handle all emails, phone calls, texts and other types of communication from customers
• Efficiently enter customer quotations/sales orders into the system computer
• Create Material Return Authorizations when needed
• Maintain needed customer files and records
• Update customer prices, part numbers, etc.
• Visit customers occasionally to maintain good customer relationships
• Know, understand and follow all company policies related to human resources and the Safety and Environmental Health Program of Reliance Metalcenter – this includes but is not limited to attendance, Code of Conduct, cell phone policy, dress code etc
