Job summary

NBT is hiring a Relationship Banking Associate to provide high-quality customer service and handle routine transactions efficiently. You will assist with basic deposit opening and refer opportunities to the right partners to fulfill customer needs.

Strong communication and listening skills are required, along with a year of related banking or sales/customer service experience. A team-focused, adaptable approach will help you thrive in this role at NBT.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum one year experience in related banking positions or equivalent sales/customer service experience
• Excellent listening & communication skills
• Ability to approach, identify and have conversations with customers and identify needs and opportunities
• Organizational, interpersonal and customer relations skills which also includes problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to function in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
• Ability to work well with people as a team
• Proficient computer skills

Responsibilities

• 65% - Processes routine transactions and associated general customer and account servicing duties with a high level of accuracy and efficiency including but not limited to routine and non-routine teller transactions in accordance with policy and procedures.
• 25% - Identify customer opportunities through interactive and consultative conversations to assess and address the needs of the customer. Provides services to customers, including but not limited to basic deposit account opening and referring customers to the appropriate business partners when necessary.
• 5% - Participates in community events that support efforts with the Community Reinvestment Act CRA.
• 5% - Performs other duties as assigned and required.
