Job summary

NBT is hiring a Relationship Banking Associate in Portland, ME to deliver high‑quality customer service and process routine transactions efficiently. You will identify customer needs, refer opportunities to partners, and support basic deposit openings, while upholding security controls.

The role emphasizes responsive service, teamwork, and participation in community initiatives as part of our CRA commitments. A high school diploma and banking or customer service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in related banking positions or equivalent sales/customer service experience.
• Excellent listening & communication skills.
• Ability to approach, identify and have conversations with customers and identify needs and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• 65% - Processes routine transactions and related account servicing duties with high accuracy, including teller transactions and daily vault balancing.
• 25% - Identify customer opportunities through conversations, perform basic deposit openings and refer to appropriate partners to meet needs.
• 5% - Participate in community events supporting CRA.
• 5% - Performs other duties as assigned.
