Southern Michigan Bank & Trust in Michigan seeks a personable Universal Banker/Teller to deliver high-quality customer service and manage standard banking transactions. You will open/close accounts, promote bank products, and ensure accurate recordkeeping while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Responsibilities include daily teller duties, assisting customers with loan options, supporting branch goals, and mentoring junior staff.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Customer service experience highly preferred.
• Retail banking or financial experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain customer relations by providing high quality customer service.
• Assist customers from start to finish as a full relationship manager.
• Performs teller duties daily.
• Interview customers to obtain information and proactively sell bank products and services.
• Open and close accounts using needs-based techniques.
• Assist customers with understanding consumer loan options and loan closings.
• Explain electronic services and Wealth Management, referring to departments when possible.
• Participate in outbound calling or business development to support branch goals.
• Balance drawers and other branch technology within guidelines.
• Prepare/verify cash shipments and sign cashier's checks, loan checks, and wires.
• Open, close, and lead the branch during management absence.
• Mentor/train incoming Tellers/Universal Bankers.
• Follow security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete required bank training including security, fraud, compliance, and customer service.
