First Merchants Bank is hiring a Customer Relationship Representative (Universal Banker) to join our team. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality customer service, accurately processing banking transactions, and recommending financial products to meet customers’ needs.

The position emphasizes selling bank products, building customer loyalty, and maintaining compliance. A positive, attentive approach and willingness to travel between banking centers are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience selling products or services.
• Minimum of 1 year of sales, banking and/or related experience.
• Ability to travel daily to banking centers within assigned region. Valid driver's license and transportation.
• S.A.F.E. Act Registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). This must be met within 3 months of hire date.
• Ability to obtain Notary Public designation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer requests for banking transactions and inquiries.
• Balance cash, daily transactions, vault and ATM; ensure compliance and reporting.
• Sell bank products, refer customers, and support sales goals.
• Train, coach, and guide staff with operational and sales skills; participate in required training sessions.
