Job description

You will lead and perform complex analyses for a full range of actuarial activities related to Reinsurance pricing for a line of business (LOB). Build models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices. Develop forecasts and models for reinsurance. Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to business partners across the organization. Present findings and recommendations regarding development or effectiveness.

You will report to the Director, Actuary - Reinsurance.

Position Compensation Range: $111,000.00 - $190,000.00

Pay Rate Type: Salary

Compensation may vary based on job level and geographic location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

1. Develop relationships with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific concerns.
2. Explore new concepts, models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions.
3. Contribute to all aspects of pricing and potentially own recurring processes.
4. Facilitate pricing strategies.
5. Assist in developing pricing for new products and rating structures.
6. Monitor industry and competitor trends to assess impact on strategies and solutions.
7. Analyze profitability of assumed casualty treaty reinsurance opportunities.
8. Maintain a portfolio analytics framework with consistent standards for evaluating reinsurance opportunities.
9. Create a collaborative, performance-driven environment by fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Mentor team members.
10. Collaborate with Underwriting to provide input on potential deals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Education Requirements

• Experience in providing customer-driven solutions and support.
• Experience analyzing assumed reinsurance treaties.
• Experience pricing assumed casualty reinsurance treaty submissions.
• Knowledge of complex insurance and reinsurance structures.
• Understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, and industry trends.
• Knowledge of the global reinsurance industry, regulations, and market dynamics.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, and basic programming.
• Knowledge of catastrophe models like RMS and AIR.
• Expertise in advanced financial and statistical analysis techniques, including actuarial methods.
• Understanding of data models and database design.
• Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS).

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

Physical Requirements: Primarily sitting/standing work.
