Qualifications

  • Actuarial student or near-credentialed property and casualty actuary (ACAS or FCAS).
  • 5+ years in commercial lines (general liability, auto, property, professional lines).
  • 2+ years in property/casualty reinsurance pricing preferred.

Cincinnati Re is currently seeking an individual to join the analytics team to support treaty reinsurance pricing. A strong quantitative and property/casualty reinsurance background is required. Candidate must have excellent communication, strong project management and analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $140,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the evaluation and pricing of reinsurance opportunities, including analyzing contracts, developing loss costs, quantifying the impact of contract features, and understanding key risk drivers.
  • Performing actuarial pricing, including experience rating and exposure rating of subject business.
  • Conducting stochastic and financial modeling of transactions.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of pricing models.
  • Collaborating with the broader reinsurance team.
  • Meeting externally with current and prospective clients.
  • Participating in special projects as needed.
Required skills and qualities:
  • Motivated, self-directed, and able to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time, and project management skills.
  • Availability for travel (4-8 trips/year for internal meetings, 2-6 trips/year for client meetings).
Preferred skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL Server and VBA is a plus.
Location:
  • Preferably in Cincinnati, OH, or remote with ability to travel.
