Job description

You will lead and perform complex analyses for a range of actuarial activities related to Reinsurance pricing for a line of business (LOB). Your responsibilities include building models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices, as well as serving as a subject matter expert and consultant to business partners. You will present findings and recommendations on development or effectiveness. You will report to the Director, Actuary - Reinsurance.

Position Compensation Range:

$111,000.00 - $190,000.00

Pay Rate Type:

Salary

Compensation may vary based on the job level and geographic location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities
  1. Develop relationships with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific concerns.
  2. Explore new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions.
  3. Contribute to all aspects of pricing and manage recurring processes.
  4. Facilitate pricing strategies.
  5. Develop pricing for new products and rating structures.
  6. Monitor industry and competitor trends to assess potential impacts.
  7. Analyze profitability of casualty treaty reinsurance opportunities.
  8. Maintain a portfolio analytics framework with consistent standards.
  9. Create a collaborative environment, fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Mentor team members.
  10. Collaborate with Underwriting on potential deals.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Education Requirements
  1. Experience providing customer-driven solutions and support.
  2. Experience analyzing assumed reinsurance treaties and pricing submissions.
  3. Knowledge of complex insurance and reinsurance structures.
  4. Understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, and industry trends.
  5. Knowledge of the global reinsurance industry, regulations, and market conditions.
  6. Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, and basic programming.
  7. Knowledge of catastrophe models like RMS and AIR.
  8. Expertise in advanced financial and statistical analysis techniques including actuarial methods.
  9. Understanding of data models and database design.
  10. Associate or Fellow in Casualty Actuary Society (ACAS or FCAS).
