Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Rehabilitation Unit. The role involves assisting with direct patient care under RN supervision, documenting vital signs and patient data in the EMR, and supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges.

You will participate in care coordination and maintain safety and quality in patient handling. Must have Nurse Aide credentials in good standing, BLS within 45 days, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school education (HSD, GED, HSED).
• Nurse Aide in good standing with the State Registry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communications.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to interruptions and changing priorities/workloads.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Certification Addendum and annual education requirements for hospital-based certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Document vitals and patient data in EMR.
• Support admission, transfer, and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Perform rounding and report observations to RN.
• Assist with diet coordination and skin care tasks as directed.
• Coordinate tests and treatments with other departments and manage supplies and equipment.
• Facilitate communications and respond to call lights and paging as needed.
