Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Rehabilitation Counselor Supervisor in the Boone VR/IL Unit, Watauga County, to organize and direct the daily supervision of Rehabilitation Counselors and staff, manage cases, and provide leadership across the program.

The CIC supports planning, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation services and promotes data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state policies/regulations governing rehabilitation services.
• Knowledge of casework practices and rehabilitation counseling techniques.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and training staff in a supportive manner.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, and professionals.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct case management supervision to Rehabilitation Counselors and support staff providing client services required to complete rehabilitation plans for employment.
• Performing administrative management tasks including casework approvals to ensure quality service delivery, budget development, and performance management.
• Providing and scheduling staff development training, consultations and action plans to enhance staff and program performance.
• Providing assigned caseload coverage and assisting with coverage for vacant caseloads.
• Fostering collaborative relationships with community and partner agencies to enhance employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
