Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Rehabilitation Counselor Supervisor, serving as Counselor-in-Charge in the Asheville VR/IL Unit. The role will oversee the Hendersonville and Transylvania satellite offices, directing daily supervision, casework, and program leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling or counseling from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience as a rehabilitation counselor.
• Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRCC) and two years of experience as a rehabilitation counselor.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct case management supervision to Rehabilitation Counselors and support staff providing consumer services required to complete rehabilitation plans for employment.
• Perform administrative management tasks to include casework approvals to ensure quality service delivery for the assigned coverage area, budget development, and performance management.
• Assist with on‑boarding and coaching of new staff to ensure program consistency and effectiveness.
• Provide and schedule staff development training, consultations and action plans to enhance staff and program performance.
• Provide assigned caseload coverage and assist with coverage for vacant caseloads.
• Foster collaborative relationships with community and partner agencies and other service partners to enhance employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
