Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Liaison to oversee the patient service experience and optimize the use of clinical resources. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with patients and staff while advocating on behalf of patients as needed.

The position is full-time, with 80 hours per pay period, and entails floating to Orland Park and Palos Heights. Typical hours run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Wednesday 10:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the service experience for all patients.
• Coordinate scheduling and resource use with providers, rooms and equipment.
• Communicate with patients and clinical staff to ensure treatment plan adherence.
• Assist data collection and analysis related to physician productivity and resource utilization.
• Resolve billing errors and obtain pre-certifications or referrals when needed.
• Register patients and schedule or coordinate appointments.
• Provide patient education information and materials as needed.
• Maintain relations with patients, internal providers and staff.
• Answer inquiries related to practice operations.
• Follow up with patients to ensure testing and prescriptions follow the plan of care.
