MedStar Health in Washington, DC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the patient-centered care team. The role provides direct patient care under supervision of a Registered Nurse and supports procedures, ADLs, phlebotomy, IV care, EKGs, and documentation in the health record.

You will assist with daily rounds, vital signs, and patient transport, while maintaining safety, privacy, and compassionate care for all patients and families.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program required
• 1–2 years experience as a CNA preferred
• Experience as a care technician preferred

Responsabilidades

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Collects specimens and performs venipuncture/phlebotomy; obtains EKGs; inserts IV catheters and maintains IV sites.
• Records vital signs, intake/output, and relevant data in health records.
• Assists with patient transportation, rounds, and handoffs between shifts.
• Provides patient/family teaching and responds to questions promptly and respectfully.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and equipment; supports environmental services as needed.

CNA Certification

CPR Certification

Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) preferred
