Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center seeks a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff and care teams in a patient-centered environment. You will assist with ADLs, gather specimens, perform basic clinical tasks, and help ensure patient comfort and safety.

Under RN supervision, you will participate in rounds, document care, and help coordinate patient transport and discharge activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision for assigned patients.
• Assist with ADLs, personal hygiene, mobility and daily activities.
• Collect specimens and obtain EKGs; document in health records.
• Record vital signs, I&O, and perform point-of-care tests as needed.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and dignity during care.
• Assist with rounds, handoffs, and CPR when indicated.
• Transport patients and assist with discharges and appointments.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
