Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to join the patient-centered care team. Under RN supervision, you will provide direct patient care, assist with ADLs, and support staff with procedures, tests, and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities include vitals collection, specimen collection, EKGs, IV care, patient transport, and ensuring comfort and safety. Must hold CNA certification and CPR; hospital training and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills and clear verbal/written communication.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Education includes a high school diploma or GED and completion of a approved nursing assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene.
• Collect specimens, perform venipuncture, obtain EKGs, and manage IVs.
• Document vital signs, intake/output, and other data in health records.
• Assist with patient transport, rounds, and family education.
• Maintain patient comfort, privacy, and safety; observe for changes in condition.
• Support with environmental services and supply management.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
