Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Rehabilitation Support Specialist to assist the Licensed Therapy Provider and help the rehabilitation department operate smoothly. You will perform direct patient contact activities, such as positioning and transfers, while preparing and applying therapeutic modalities and guiding routine exercises under supervision.

You will also handle registration, scheduling, billing, and clerical duties, ensuring courteous patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Typically 1 year of experience in health care, public relations, or health care education.
• Demonstrated customer service and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to engage patients in a warm and positive manner and to work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning and transfers under supervision of the licensed provider.
• Prepare and apply therapeutic modalities and supervise routine patient exercises or use exercise equipment.
• Assist with crutch walking and gait training.
• Handle registration, scheduling, cashiering, admitting and follow-up to ensure efficient care; coordinate appointments.
• Perform reception/clerical duties: phones, messages, scheduling, billing, mail, and records.
