Job summary

RBC Capital Markets, LLC seeks an Associate for the U.S. Regulatory Reporting and Controls Management function.

You will oversee the end-to-end preparation and timely submission of FRB/OCC regulatory reports and drive automation and process optimization of reporting platforms. You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Lines of Business, Audit and Controls teams to strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to FRB, OCC and FFIEC requirements, while supporting changes in the regulatory

Qualifications

  • Experience in U.S. regulatory reporting and project delivery within the financial services industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Axiom or similar reporting platforms including data integration, automation and optimization of reporting processes.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information to senior management and regulators.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the end-to-end process for regulatory report preparation, review and timely submission of FRB and OCC regulatory reports and filings with responsibility for ensuring operational effectiveness in compliance with the regulatory reporting controls and governance environment.
  • Assess the accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of reported data in conformance with regulatory reporting requirements, and ability to apply testing techniques and methods in accordance with approved approaches.
  • Drive automation, enhancements, process optimization and ongoing management of the regulatory reporting platform and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Drive internal assessment of the impact of changes in the broader regulatory environment and requirements to RBC's reporting obligations
  • Support the development and maintenance of a strong internal controls environment over the regulatory reporting process to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices
  • Partner with various internal stakeholders (i.e. Legal, Compliance, Line of Business units, Audit, Controllers, Operations) to execute change initiatives
  • Identify potential risk areas through review of regulatory reporting policies, procedures and controls and drive potential corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
