Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide professional respiratory care for patients from newborns to geriatrics. You will handle critical care and general patient care tasks, ensuring compliance with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAHEA approved training program in respiratory care.
• Current license to practice respiratory care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligible to sit for exam.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers standard Respiratory Care including aerosol medication delivery and oxygen therapy.
• Performs arterial cannulation/punctures and airway management activities.
• Conducts Pulmonary Function Testing as needed and assists in ventilator care.
• May be on-call on nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintains documentation in the electronic medical record and supports training of staff and students.

Education

CAHEA approved training program in respiratory care

Current license to practice respiratory care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina

Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligible

Current BCLS certification

Current ACLS certification
