UNC Health is seeking a Senior Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Therapy team in Smithfield, NC. This full-time, night-shift role focuses on advanced airway management, ventilator support, and comprehensive respiratory care for diverse patient populations.

The position requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, NC licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with NBRC registration (RRT), and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board.
• Must be NBRC registered (RRT); CRT may qualify under some conditions as applicable to the unit.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Administers standard Respiratory Care including aerosol delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, oxygen therapy, and arterial punctures.
• May perform airway management including tracheostomy care and endotracheal procedures; ventilator care and weaning as needed.
• May be on-call days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintains knowledge and serves as a resource to other staff.
