Job summary

UNC Medical Center Hillsborough is seeking a Senior Respiratory Therapist to provide advanced respiratory care, airway management, and ventilator support in a 30-hour work week on the night schedule. The role emphasizes independent practice and staff mentorship within the Respiratory Therapy HBO Hosp unit.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, NC RCP licensure with NBRC RRT acceptable, and at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by NC Board; RRT preferred.
• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory care including aerosol meds and oxygen therapy.
• Manages airway care including tracheostomy and extubation as needed.
• May be on-call days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ventilator care and weaning as needed.
• Maintains and updates clinical knowledge; serves as a resource to staff.
