Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care across respiratory services in Saint Louis, MO. The role involves consulting with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serving as an expert resource for nursing staff.

Duties are carried out according to physician orders and may include the full scope of respiratory care. Qualifications include a CoARC-approved respiratory care program, an active RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC).
• PALS (for ER staff) may be required.
• Able to perform duties with physical demands including lifting and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult with physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Sign-On-Bonus incentive included up to $10,000

Shift

7 pm- 7 am

Eligible for shift differential

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
