Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide direct patient care on the night shift. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and act as an advanced resource for the care team, performing duties as assigned.

Requirements include graduating from a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program, current RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential; ACLS preferred and critical care experience is desirable. Sign-on bonus incentive up to $10,000 available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license per state requirements.
• RRT credential awarded by NBRC required; PALS for ER staff if applicable.
• ACLS preferred; experience in critical care is aPlus.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy and outcomes.
• Serve as advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff.
• Complete duties as assigned with safety and quality focus.

7 pm- 7 am

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
