Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care and to consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness at Mercy Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. This role operates on a 7 pm–7 am shift with eligible shift differentials and a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Requirements include graduation from a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program, current state RCP licensure, NBRC RRT credential, and PALS for ER staff if applicable. ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in state.
• Certifications: NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); PALS for ER staff if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care as ordered by physicians.
• Consult with physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Serve as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
