Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the night shift (7 pm–7 am) at the Saint Louis, MO location. You will perform direct patient care across respiratory services, consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness, and serve as a clinical resource for the care team.

Expect to meet licensure requirements, hold an NBRC RRT credential, and participate in ongoing professional development. Sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license per state requirements.
• RRT credential from NBRC.
• PALS required for ER staff; ACLS preferred.
• Physical demands: push/pull/grip up to 50 lbs; kneel, crouch, crawl when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Act as an advanced resource for physicians and nursing regarding respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
