Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver direct patient care under physician orders and consult on therapy effectiveness. You will act as a resource to physicians and nursing staff in respiratory care, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include performing therapies, evaluating response, and coordinating with ER team when needed. Requires RRT credential and active state licensure; ACLS preferred and physical tasks are common in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold NBRC RRT credential; ER require PALS.
• ACLS preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (push/pull up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in respiratory therapies per physician orders.
• Consult physicians on therapy effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Serve as resource for physicians and nursing staff on respiratory care.

Sign-On-Bonus incentive included up to $10,000

7 pm- 7 am

Eligible for shift differential

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Licensure: Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Experience: None.
• Certifications: Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For co-workers who work in the Emergency Room PALS is required.
• Other: Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. Plus, pinch up to 10 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: All appropriate respiratory care devices.
• Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Preferred Experience: Prefer critical care experience.
