Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver respiratory care and life support under physician supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating prescriptions, administering aerosol therapies, operating ventilators, and monitoring patient responses.

Qualifikationen

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program.
• Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
• Minimum 1+ years of Respiratory Care experience is required.
• Critical care experience is highly preferred.
• Previous experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing is highly preferred.
• Current or past EPIC charting experience is highly preferred.
• Credentialed as an RRT from NBRC is required.
• Credentialed as certified or registered pulmonary function technologist is expected within 12 months of hire.
• Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey is required.
• Advanced and Basic Life Support certification is required.

Aufgaben

• Evaluate prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, assess patient condition and determine therapy requirements.
• Provide aerosol medications and treatments for inhalation and position patients to aid breathing.
• Determine administration method of inhalants compatible with physician orders.
• Set up and operate devices (ventilators, gas administration systems, environmental controls).
• Operate equipment to maintain specified treatment parameters and administer medicinal gases and aerosols.
• Monitor patient responses: vital signs, ABGs, blood chemistry.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to aid mucus clearance and breathing.
• Assist in pulmonary function tests for diagnostic purposes.
• Observe and adjust equipment for optimum therapy results.
• Consult with physician on adverse reactions.
• Maintain patient charts and test equipment; arrange repairs as needed.
• Provide patient education and support for chronic lung disease.
• Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees.
• Care for premature infants, elderly, and trauma patients when needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ausbildung

Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program

Bachelor's Degree (highly preferred)

1+ years of Respiratory Care experience

Critical care experience (highly preferred)

PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing experience (highly preferred)

EPIC charting experience (highly preferred)

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC

Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist

Active Respiratory Therapy license in New Jersey

Advanced and Basic Life Support certification
