Qualifications

• Provides patient education and supports chronic lung disease management.
• Collaborates with physicians to modify treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescription, measure arterial blood gases, and assess patient condition to determine therapy needs.
• Administer aerosol medications and position patient to assist breathing and prevent lung obstruction.
• Determine the best method of inhalant administration per physician orders.
• Set up and operate ventilators and gas administration equipment.
• Adjust equipment to deliver prescribed parameters and medicinal gases.
