Job summary

Ascension Cedar Park Medical Center seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide full-time day-shift care. You will evaluate patients, administer advanced respiratory therapies, and monitor progress to optimize recovery. You’ll educate families and support emergency response when needed.

Requirements include BLS, Texas RC Practitioner credentials, and NBRC Registered status, with the ability to work in a high-demand clinical setting and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner credential required before/at hire.
• NBRC Registered credential required before/at hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailored respiratory care plans based on patient assessments.
• Administer advanced respiratory care modalities and operate critical equipment.
• Monitor patient status and adjust treatments to improve outcomes.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and home care resources.
• Respond to resuscitation codes as part of the urgent response team.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Develop tailored care plans: Evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies to establish comprehensive, diagnosis-based treatment strategies.
• Deliver advanced respiratory care: Administer complex care modalities, manage specialized equipment and monitor real-time patient conditions to maximize recovery outcomes.
• Optimize clinical effectiveness: Continuously assess medication responses and treatment performance to adjust care plans based on individual patient progress.
• Empower patients and families: Educate patients and caregivers on managing their conditions while connecting them with vital community support programs.
• Lead emergency resuscitation: Respond swiftly to life‑threatening resuscitation codes as a key member of the urgent response team.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
