Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's Southside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the day shift, full-time. The role focuses on implementing and monitoring patient care plans and equipment, and responding to clinical needs within a busy hospital environment.

The position requires active Florida RRT credentials and BLS certification, with ALS/PALS/NRP as favorable qualifications. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes and

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire or transfer date (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from FL Board obtained prior to hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification preferred (AAP).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/ARC accepted).

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition; perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment outcomes.
• Educate patient and family about health condition and community resources.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.

• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
