Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Respiratory Care professional for the Night shift at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center Hospital in Carmel, IN. You will join the Respiratory Care department on a full-time basis, supporting patients with specialized respiratory modalities and critical care interventions.

The role emphasizes protocol-driven care, collaboration with the emergency team, and patient education. Candidates with NBRC registration and BLS within 30 days are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed by Indiana
• Registered Respiratory Therapist NBRC credentialed within 12 months
• Advanced Life Support preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred

Responsibilities

• Formulate, execute, and evaluate individualized respiratory care protocols.
• Manage and oversee advanced respiratory modalities and equipment.
• Document, record, and communicate patient status and treatment efficacy.
• Provide patient and family education and facilitate referrals to community resources.
• Participate in the emergency resuscitation team and respond to code alerts.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Indiana Respiratory Care Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

At least 2 years of critical care experience with an RRT preferred
