Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health's Jersey Shore University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, patient-centered care across telemetry and med/surg units. You will use evidence-based practices, maintain clear communications with the care team, manage medications with bar-scanning, and participate in discharge planning.

NJ nursing license required, BLS/CPR within 60 days, 6 months nursing experience, 1 year telemetry/med-surg preferred; BSN in progress encouraged; compensation

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey nursing license required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months of nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Telemetry/ACLS certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willingness to acquire within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care per evidence-based policies and standards.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and health care team.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Document patient assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluations in real time.
• Provide patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Coordinate safe discharge planning and transition of care.
