Job summary

Huntsville Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Night Shift Nursing Team. You will provide skilled nursing care, clinical leadership, and support to residents and families throughout the night.

This role offers an opportunity to build lasting relationships with residents in a long-term care setting, utilize strong clinical judgment, and work with a dedicated team to maintain safety, dignity, and quality of life during overnight hours.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently during night shifts.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and standards.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Communicate significant changes to physicians and leadership.
• Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and changes in condition.
• Provide guidance and supervision to LPNs and CNAs.
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

What You’ll Do

As a Night Shift Registered Nurse, you'll provide and coordinate resident care while helping ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and respond appropriately
• Communicate significant changes to physicians, nursing leadership, and other clinical team members
• Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and changes in resident condition
• Provide guidance and supervision to LPNs and CNAs as appropriate
• Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to resident needs and concerns with professionalism and compassion
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory compliance procedures
• Promote resident dignity, comfort, independence, and quality of life
• Support effective shift-to-shift communication and continuity of nursing services

What We're Looking For

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in resident condition
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Strong organization, time-management, and clinical decision-making abilities
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented approach to nursing
• Ability to work effectively and independently during night shift
