Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical Oncology unit. The schedule is Monday through Thursday with an hourly range of $33.19 to $44.81.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience in outpatient setting, infusions, administering chemo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on call assignments.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.
