Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Oncology to join our team. The role supports care coordination, chemotherapy administration, and patient education in an academic teaching environment.

The position requires an active VA RN license, an Associate's degree in nursing, and BLS certification. Outpatient infusion experience and chemo exposure are preferred. Schedule is Monday through Thursday with competitive hourly compensation.

Formación

• Virginia RN licensure (or compact) required.
• Outpatient/ambulatory chemo experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform plan-of-care interventions including med administration and chemo infusions.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team and family.
• Collaborate across disciplines for transfers, discharges, referrals and education.
• Provide patient and family education appropriate to age and culture.

How You’ll Contribute

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate's degree in nursing required.

Additional Requirements Include

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• Experience in outpatient setting, infusions, administering chemo preferred
