Job summary

Lifepoint Health – Sovah Health in Danville seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU night shift. The role is full-time with a 12-hour, 7pm–7am schedule requiring 36 hours per week and alternating weekends. A $20,000 sign-on eligibility is noted for qualified applicants.

Join a 19-bed closed ICU with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios and physician coverage. The team emphasizes high-acuity care, professional growth, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire and BLS are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals and psychosocial/spiritual needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.Associate's degree in nursing required.

Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire
• Experience in clinical area preferred
