Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical/Surgical on the night shift. You will cover 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM in a 24-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio. Active Virginia RN license (or compact) and ADN required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license.
• Associate degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Experience in clinical area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.Associate degree in nursing required.
