Job summary

Sovah Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical/Surgical nights in Danville, VA. The role features a 3‑12 hour shift schedule (7P–7A) with a $20,000 sign‑on eligibility and an hourly range of $33.31–$44.97. This is a patient‑centered position on a 24‑bed unit with a 1:6 nurse‑to‑patient ratio.

Active Virginia RN license is required; a BSN is preferred. Compensation includes comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required
• Bachelor's degree preferred for advancement or flexibility

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.
• Coordinate patient care across transfers, discharges, referrals and support needs.
• Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have an active Virginia RN license (single-state) or compact license. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Associate degree in nursing required.

Additional Requirements Include

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support
• Experience in clinical area preferred
