Job summary

YAI - Seeing beyond disability seeks a Registered Nurse on Long Island to deliver compassionate, person-centered nursing care for individuals with I/DD. The RN will assess needs, develop and monitor plans, educate on treatments, and coordinate with medical providers.

The role requires an active RN license in NY or NJ, BLS certification, and strong communication and computer skills. The position involves on-site nursing coverage and adherence to regulatory standards with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid, active Registered Nursing (RN) license in NY or NJ.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with persons supported and staff.
• Proficient with computers and electronic systems (EMR, eMAR, Workday, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to persons supported, assessing needs and developing plans.
• Monitor and document health status and response to treatment.
• Educate individuals on treatments, medications, and health maintenance.
• Triaging calls from staff and adapting actions per protocols.
• Maintain regulatory-compliant nursing records and plans of care.
