Job summary

YAI is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, person-centered nursing care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under supervision, you will assess health needs, design and monitor nursing care plans, and coordinate with medical providers to ensure comprehensive support.

The role requires an active RN license (NY/NJ), BLS certification, strong communication, and the ability to educate and supervise direct care staff.

Qualifications

Valid, active RN license in NY or NJ.
Current Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lead, direct and train program staff on medical support and medication administration.
Proficiency with electronic health records and Workday.
Willingness to travel between assigned programs as required.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing services in collaboration with staff and leadership to deliver person-centered care.
Develop and maintain plans of nursing care and related medical support plans.
Assess health status, set goals, implement interventions, and evaluate progress.
Educate on treatments, medications, diets, and follow-up tests in coordination with providers.
Triage calls from staff and persons supported, directing to appropriate actions.
Maintain accurate documentation in EHR, eMAR, and other systems.
