Job summary
YAI in New York City is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, person-centered nursing care to individuals with I/DD or related populations across assigned programs. You will assess, plan, implement, and monitor nursing plans, collaborate with medical providers, and ensure high standards of care with thorough documentation.
Responsibilities include triaging calls, educating patients on treatments and medications, and contributing to plan updates.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license to practice in NY or NJ.
- Current BLS certification within 90 days of appointment.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic systems (EHR, Workday).
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing services in collaboration with staff and program leadership.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of regulations related to nursing care.
- Use nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
- Educate patients on health care treatments, medications, and lifestyle.
- Record data and document in electronic systems as required.
- Triages calls from staff and patients and directs care when needed.
