Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit in Parma. You will provide care for medical, post-surgical and trauma patients on a 15-bed unit with a trauma bed as needed.

Shift patterns are 7a-7p and 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include IV insertions, blood draws, telemetry monitoring, and ensuring patient safety through strong time management and critical thinking.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (or obtained within 90 days).
• Preferred: BSN and Magnet certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer acute care nursing in Medical/Post-Surgical unit.
• Perform IV insertions and blood draws.
• Monitor telemetry and patient status.
• Demonstrate time management and critical thinking.
• Delegate tasks to LPNs, PCNAs and assistants.

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical
• Post-Surgical
• Trauma- Level 3 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN
• Professional Certification recognized by the Magnet Association
