Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Adult Medical/Post-Surgical Unit (Parma Inpatient). This unit handles medical, post-surgical, and trauma patients in a Level One Trauma Center, with 72 bi-weekly hours and rotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p/7p-7a) including weekends and holidays.

You will perform IV insertions, blood draws, telemetry monitoring, and provide post-surgical care while collaborating with LPNs, PCNAs, providers, and rehab services.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• BLS certification or obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• IV insertions, blood draws, post-surgical care.
• Telemetry monitoring of patients.
• Time management and critical thinking while coordinating care with team members.

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical

Primary skills utilized/learned:

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
