Job summary

MetroHealth Parma Health Center is seeking a registered nurse to care for acut e care adult medical and postoperative patients on the Parma inpatient unit. You will work 7a-7p or 7p-7a with rotating weekends and holidays, joining a multidisciplinary team including LPNs, PCNAs, and therapists.

Responsibilities include IV insertions, blood draws, telemetry monitoring, and swift clinical decision-making to support patient recovery and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to medical and post-surgical patients.
• Perform IV insertions and blood draws.
• Monitor telemetry and ensure patient safety.
• Demonstrate time management and clinical judgement in a fast-paced unit.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Medical
• Post-Surgical
• Trauma- Level 3 Trauma Center

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV insertions, blood draws, post-surgical care

• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers, PT/OT, Speech Therapy

Number of beds on unit:

• 15 beds plus 1 Trauma bed as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
